Interest media is here. How churches and creators can win on YouTube and reach the world with one well-crafted video.
From Social Media to Interest Media: Seizing the Digital Harvest

The world of media is shifting faster than ever. Television, once the gold standard for influence, is collapsing. Social media, once the tool of choice for churches and ministries, is no longer what it used to be.

Bishop Alan DiDio puts it bluntly: social media is dead.

That is not a prediction, it is reality. Platforms are no longer built on social graphs, where your message spreads through friends and followers. Instead, they are powered by interest graphs. What people see is no longer determined by who they know but by what captures their attention.

And that shift has changed everything for the Church.

Interest Media: God’s Open Door

We now live in the age of interest media. YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms do not require you to have millions of subscribers to make an impact. One well-crafted video can outperform a channel that has been around for years.

Here is why this matters:

• Algorithms reward engagement, not clout. Likes, comments, and minutes watched matter far more than vanity metrics.

• The field is level. A small ministry with a handful of people can outrun a mega ministry if their team is engaged.

• Global reach is instant. With automated translations, a message recorded in English can preach in ten different languages overnight with no added cost.

The internet is today’s fishing net. Jesus spoke of a net gathering fish of every kind in Matthew 13. For the first time in history, that net is digital, and it can reach the world in a moment.

You Don’t Need a Mega Ministry to Make a Mega Impact

Gone are the days when success was measured by being on a big television network. Ministries used to spend tens of thousands of dollars chasing airtime, but now ordinary believers with a smartphone can reach millions. In fact, many of them do so more effectively than advertisers with million-dollar budgets.

This should excite the Church. It means every believer, every pastor, and every small team has the ability to shake nations. The only question is: will we use it?

The Secret Ingredient: A Mobilized Team

The greatest content in the world will not change much if your team does not engage with it. Interest media is fueled by activity. That is why every like, comment, and share is more than a statistic. It is an act of evangelism.

Bishop Alan often shares how even retirees in his church, many of whom had never used YouTube, caught the vision. They did not sign up for accounts because they wanted to. They did it because they understood the mission.

The Algorithm Checklist for Kingdom Impact

If your church or ministry is ready to step into digital evangelism, start simple. Create a short checklist your team can use every time you post a video. Watching, liking, commenting, and sharing might sound small, but multiplied through even a handful of people it can transform your reach.

Here is how you can train your team to turn clicks into outreach:

1. Watch the video in full and replay it when possible. Minutes matter most.

2. Like and save it. Saving shows the platform that the content is important.

3. Leave meaningful comments. Go beyond “amen” and spark discussion.

4. Share it widely. Post it, send it directly, or drop it in group chats.

5. Pray over the content. Just as you would pray over a prayer cloth, ask God to anoint the digital seed you are sowing.

When even a small team consistently follows this checklist, platforms take notice. Suddenly, your content is not just reaching dozens, it is reaching thousands and even millions.

Repenting of Digital Silence

For decades, churches trained believers to share their faith door to door, in workplaces, or even in elevators. But when was the last time we trained believers to evangelize through digital spaces?

Your phone is no longer just a device. It is a pulpit. Your thumb is now a missionary. One click can reach more people in a second than most missionaries will in their entire lifetime.

That means ignoring the digital mission field is not neutral. It is silence in the face of opportunity. And Bishop Alan is right. The Church must repent for digital silence.

A Mantle for This Generation

In past generations, God anointed individuals like Billy Graham or Jimmy Swaggart to carry a global media mantle. Today, that mantle has been released to the Body of Christ. Every believer with a phone in their pocket now carries the potential to impact nations.

The storm clouds of distraction and deception are gathering, but the harvest fields are white. If we will see the moment, embrace the mission, and mobilize our teams, we will be part of the greatest move of God the digital world has ever witnessed.

Practical Tip: Take the Next Step

If you are serious about growing in interest media, do not stop here. Start experimenting with one platform. Post weekly, measure engagement, and adjust your strategy as you go.

For practical next steps, check out our blog /blogs/news/the-church-youtube-strategy-you-actually-need

The shift is here. Social media is gone. Interest media has arrived. God is calling His people to cast their nets.

It is time to take the Gospel to all the world right now.

Why Christian Creators Burn Out https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/why-christian-creators-burn-out https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/why-christian-creators-burn-out Tue, 05 Aug 2025 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioChurch GrowthContent StrategySocial MediaChasing views instead of God's voice leads to burnout. David Diga Hernandez shares how Christian creators build media that lasts, from the secret place. In a media-driven world where influence often seems like the goal, Christian creators are finding themselves in a dangerous pattern: rapid growth followed by total burnout. At Armed Media Conference 2024, David Diga Hernandez delivered a sobering and needed message to remind us what media ministry is really about.

Here’s what he made unmistakably clear:

Ministry Is a Calling, Not a Career

If you’re chasing views instead of God’s voice, burnout is inevitable. David reminded us that many have mistaken the platform for the purpose. Ministry, especially media ministry, must be rooted in calling — not clout. “Preachers are servants, not celebrities,” he said. The moment your identity becomes tied to your follower count, you’re standing on shaky ground.

Even massive followings can’t sustain you when pressure, doubt, and spiritual warfare come crashing in. When the lights go off, when the critics speak up, when your own insecurities start screaming — it’s your connection to God that will keep you anchored, not your channel’s analytics.

Ministry Is For Edification, Not Entertainment

David didn’t shy away from the reality that we do need to make content interesting. We’re competing with cleaning videos, cat reels, and controversy. But attention is only the beginning. What we do with that attention determines whether we’re building lasting impact or just creating noise.

“If it’s not overflow, it’s not ministry. It’s just methodology.” Powerful content must flow from a place of spiritual substance. That means feeding people the Word, not just going viral off of signs and wonders clips. Those moments draw people in — but the Word keeps them.

Yes, titles matter. Thumbnails matter. Even strategy matters. But the power behind your content must come from the presence of God, not performance tactics.

Ministry Is Ambassadorship, Not Argument

One of the most urgent parts of David’s message was his call for creators to stay out of division and drama — especially the kind that disguises itself as “discernment.” He warned against gossiping about other ministers or feeding into online cancel culture.

“Never wrestle with a pig — you’ll both get muddy, and the pig will enjoy it.”

Christian creators are ambassadors of heaven. That means we carry ourselves with kingdom culture — not YouTube comment section culture. Resist the urge to clap back, create response videos, or feed controversy. The enemy wants to bait you into losing your credibility by dragging you into distraction.

Ministry Must Be Specific to Become Dynamic

Finally, David emphasized the need to clarify your lane. Broad content doesn’t break through anymore — specificity does. There are millions of Christian podcasts, sermons, and videos online. What makes yours different?

You must identify your unique call, your one thing. Whether it’s evangelism, teaching, prayer, spiritual warfare, or something else, you’ll only gain traction when your message is clear and consistent. Your niche doesn’t make you smaller — it makes you sharper.

In David’s words: “To become dynamic, you must first become specific.”

The Real Reason Creators Burn Out

Burnout doesn’t happen because you posted too much. It happens because you posted without a foundation. You chased numbers but neglected your soul. You mastered the platform but lost sight of the presence.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

Let this be your reminder: build from the secret place. Let your media flow from ministry. And never let the algorithm define your anointing.

A Pastor’s Guide to Podcasting https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/a-pastor-s-guide-to-podcasting https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/a-pastor-s-guide-to-podcasting Sat, 26 Jul 2025 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioContent StrategyPodcastingYouTubeBefore you hit record, answer three questions. A pastor's roadmap to podcast gear, software, and a video-first plan that grows on YouTube. If you’re a pastor thinking about launching a podcast, pause for just a second.

Before you start brainstorming names or testing microphones, there are a few critical decisions that can make or break your podcast’s impact. In this blog, we’re breaking down the exact questions and strategies you need to answer first—before you hit publish on episode one.

Whether you want to reach your congregation midweek or build an online audience for your message, this is your practical roadmap.

🎯 Know Who You’re Talking To (And Why It Matters)

Let’s be honest—there are over 3 million podcasts out there. So why should someone listen to yours?

Here are three questions you must answer before anything else:

  1. Who are you talking to?

  2. What problems are they facing?

  3. Why should they listen to you instead of the other 3 million voices?

If your podcast isn’t solving a clear problem or providing focused value, it’s just more noise. People don’t care about your title, episode number, or release schedule… until they see the value you’re offering.

🧰 Gear & Software: Keep It Simple and Strategic

Don’t overthink your setup. Here’s the gear Evan recommends to get started without getting overwhelmed:

  • USB Microphone – Quality audio is non-negotiable.

  • Headphones – Avoid feedback and improve interview clarity.

  • Camera (optional but powerful) – Podcasts should be video first.

  • Quiet Environment – Don’t record next to the HVAC.

Software picks:

  • Recording: Riverside.fm (not Zoom!)

  • Editing: Premiere Pro, Descript, or CapCut

  • Clipping for Socials: Opus Clip or Repurpose.io

  • Distribution: Buzzsprout, Libsyn, etc.

  • Live Stream (optional): StreamYard

📺 YouTube Is Your Podcast Platform Now

YouTube—and now YouTube Music—is the #1 platform for podcasts. That means your podcast should be video-first. Why? Because video content performs better, lasts longer, and gives you more flexibility to grow across platforms.

Start there, then syndicate to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.

🔥 The “Chop the Chicken” Strategy for Socials

Once your episode is live, don’t stop there. Take the content you’ve already recorded and repurpose it across your platforms. It’s what we call the Chop the Chicken method:

  • Clip 2–3 short moments from your podcast

  • Use tools like Opus Clip or Repurpose.io

  • Add captions, post to Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts

  • Link back to your full episode via your Linktree or bio

It’s fast. It’s low-effort. And it multiplies your content.

🧠 Final Thought: Don’t Just Launch a Podcast. Launch with Purpose.

Podcasting can be powerful, but it needs clarity, intentionality, and consistency. If you’re ready to take it seriously—start with this plan, then plug in with a community that’s doing the same thing.

YouTube for Churches in 5 Minutes https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/the-church-youtube-strategy-you-actually-need https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/the-church-youtube-strategy-you-actually-need Thu, 24 Jul 2025 08:00:00 GMT DiDio MediaChurch GrowthContent StrategyThumbnailsYouTubeMost churches treat YouTube like a storage closet. Audit your analytics, trim the fluff, and fix titles and thumbnails to reach new viewers. Why Most Ministries Are Failing on YouTube: And How to Fix It Fast

Most churches treat YouTube like a storage closet. Sermons go up every week, untouched, unedited, and unoptimized. And pastors wonder why nobody new is watching.

The truth? YouTube isn't a sermon archive. It's a mission field.

In this 5-minute crash course, Evan breaks down exactly how churches are wasting their reach and what they should be doing instead. No fluff, no theory—just the strategies we've used to grow a church channel past 500,000 subscribers without paid ads.

Step 1: Audit What's Already Working

Before you do anything new, take 10 minutes to study your own content.

Open YouTube Studio and look at:

  • Click-through rate (CTR) — What's the thumbnail and title for your best- and worst-performing videos?
  • Average view duration — Where are people dropping off? What segments are holding attention?

If you're not willing to look at these numbers, you're not serious about growing your channel.

Step 2: Cut the Fat

Your livestream probably includes 20 minutes of content no one online cares about.

Why? Because people on YouTube aren't looking for your countdown timer or local announcements—they're looking for answers. You need to trim everything that doesn't directly support your video's title.

That means:

  • Cut the countdown. You're not NASA.
  • Cut the announcements. They're not relevant outside your zip code.
  • Cut the worship—unless your mix is top-tier and people are actually searching for it.

What you leave in should hook the viewer in seconds and back up your title and thumbnail.

Step 3: Rethink Your Titles and Thumbnails

Your church logo doesn't belong on your thumbnail.

Apply what we call the NC Rule: Nobody Cares.

  • Nobody cares about your church name.
  • Nobody cares about your branding.
  • They only care about their problem—and whether your video can help solve it.

Make your titles specific and your thumbnails simple. Big faces, clear emotion, and curiosity. And yes, use AI tools to help brainstorm—but make sure they understand the NC Rule first.

Why Pastors Must Embrace Social Media Now https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/why-pastors-must-embrace-social-media-now https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/why-pastors-must-embrace-social-media-now Fri, 27 Jun 2025 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioAIChurch GrowthSocial MediaYouTubeYou don't need a mega ministry to have a mega impact. Bishop Alan DiDio on why social media is today's pulpit and pastors can't afford to wait. “You don’t have to be a mega ministry to have a mega impact.” – Bishop Alan DiDio

The printing press revolutionized the world. It standardized language, sparked the scientific revolution, and gave rise to journalism. Now, we’re living through a digital media revolution that makes Gutenberg’s invention look small in comparison—and most ministries are asleep at the wheel.

In a bold keynote from the Armed Media Conference, Bishop Alan DiDio lays out a prophetic warning and a practical challenge to the Church: If you’re not creating content online, you’re not just falling behind—you’re forfeiting your influence.

Digital Media Isn’t Optional Anymore

Let’s put the opportunity in perspective:

  • 2.5 billion people are on YouTube—monthly.

  • 95% of internet users use the platform.

  • 62.6% of the world’s population is on social media.

  • And the average person spends 2.5 hours per day consuming it.

That’s over 11.5 billion hours of media consumption every day.

“Are you a part of that conversation? Are you a creator, or just a consumer?”

Bishop Alan reminds us that if CBS offered your church a free primetime slot with 5 million viewers, you’d jump at the chance. YouTube gives you access to billions, for free—and even pays you for it. Yet most pastors ignore the opportunity because they’re overwhelmed, afraid of imperfection, or too focused on outdated platforms.

“I believe there will be violence in Heaven when the media pioneers find out you had more access and more free tools than they ever did—and you did nothing with it.”

Social Media Is Today’s Pulpit

This isn’t about chasing clicks or going viral. This is about recognizing the tools God has placed in your hands to reach a generation that’s already online.

“The Seven Mountains model needs to be reimagined. Media isn’t one of the mountains—it’s the ski lift to the top of every mountain.”

If you’re called to influence education, government, family, business, or ministry, digital media is the delivery system. It’s how messages travel. And it’s how revival will reach a generation.

AI Is Not the Enemy—It’s a Tool

“AI isn’t just another invention. It’s the invention of another inventor.”

The rise of artificial intelligence will reshape 80% of the global economy in the next decade. And the Church has two choices: retreat in fear, or rise in wisdom.

Just as past generations used radio, television, and satellite technology to spread the Gospel, we must redeem today’s digital tools for Kingdom purposes. That includes AI, social platforms, and new distribution models.

Obedience Over Perfection

“I just sat at my desk, hit record, and uploaded it. That video reached 7 people before I took it down. But the goal was simple: get 1% better every video.”

You don’t need a massive budget or a production team. You just need to obey. Bishop Alan’s challenge to pastors is simple:

🎥 Pick up your phone. Hit record. Stop waiting for perfect.

A Revival Nation Is Rising

We’re not just building content—we’re building a parallel economy, a parallel influence structure, and a revival nation. Those who recognize this moment and act on it will be positioned for extraordinary impact.

“There’s a difference between knowing and acknowledging. Knowing something changes your mind. Acknowledging it changes your actions.”

Final Word

If you’re a pastor, leader, or content creator wondering whether it’s time to get online—it is.

The revival isn’t coming. It’s already here.

And it’s not optional anymore.

Posting Consistently? Here’s Why You’re Still Not Growing https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/posting-consistently-here-s-why-you-re-still-not-growing https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/posting-consistently-here-s-why-you-re-still-not-growing Tue, 03 Jun 2025 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioAlgorithmsChurch GrowthContent StrategyYou post consistently, but growth won't come. The fix is the viewer journey: stop chasing the algorithm and start serving the person watching. You’ve been posting videos. You’ve stayed consistent. You’ve poured hours into editing, uploading, and sharing. But the growth? It’s just not showing up.

If that’s you, you’re not alone—and you’re not crazy. There’s a reason your content isn’t performing the way you expect, and it’s not because you’re lazy or lacking faith. The truth? Consistency alone isn’t enough anymore.

Attention Is the New Currency

In today’s digital landscape, attention is everything. It’s not likes, followers, or even views—it’s attention. And that attention is under spiritual attack.

As Christian creators, we’re not just battling algorithms—we’re battling distraction. The enemy doesn’t just want your focus, he wants to rob the attention of the people you’re trying to reach. Your mission isn’t just to grow an audience—it’s to steal back attention from the enemy and redirect it toward the truth of the Gospel.

Stop Chasing the Algorithm—Start Serving the Viewer

It’s easy to get caught up in SEO tricks, hashtags, and algorithm hacks. But here’s the hard truth:

You’re not supposed to hack the algorithm. You’re supposed to help the viewer.

Every time you hit record, you’re not talking to a screen—you’re speaking to a soul. The algorithm doesn’t need ministry. People do. And when you focus on serving them instead of chasing growth, that’s when things start to change.

What Is the Viewer Journey?

In the video, Evan breaks down a game-changing principle: You’re not just making videos—you’re walking people through a process.

The viewer journey is the path someone takes from not knowing you at all to becoming deeply impacted by your message. That journey often includes three key stages:

  1. Discovery – When a viewer stumbles on your content for the first time, their only question is: “Why should I care?”

  2. Engagement – If your message resonates, they’ll want more—but only if you’ve made it clear why you’re different and what value you offer.

  3. Transformation – This is where real impact happens. If your videos speak to their real problems, with consistency and clarity, the viewer doesn’t just watch—they change.

But here’s the catch: if your content skips these steps or tries to rush the process, you lose people.

The key is recognizing where your audience is in the journey—and building your content around serving them right where they are.

The Real Reason You’re Not Growing

You might be doing the right things, but for the wrong reasons. Or maybe your message isn’t clear. Maybe your content doesn’t answer the question your audience is actually asking. That’s why understanding the viewer journey is so critical.

Most creators throw out content like darts in the dark, hoping something sticks. But what if you could map out exactly what your audience needs—before they even know they need it?

At DiDio Media, we believe your growth should be strategic, Spirit-led, and audience-focused. We train Christian creators to speak with clarity, lead with excellence, and capture attention for the Kingdom.

Ready to Do It Right?

If you’re tired of spinning your wheels and want to finally see traction in your content—don’t just post. Post with purpose.

Your calling deserves more than burnout. It deserves a strategy.

A simple framework to save hours and create better content with ChatGPT. How to Actually Use AI to Save Time & Create Better Content

At DiDio Media, we don’t just believe in leveraging technology—we believe in mastering it. One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing in media and content creation is the power of AI prompting, especially with tools like ChatGPT.

Here’s what most people don’t realize: it’s not just about using AI—it’s about learning how to communicate with it well.

Why Prompting Matters More Than Ever

AI isn’t just a luxury anymore—it’s the new standard. From Zoom’s AI Companion to built-in writing assistants across the web, AI is integrating into every part of the creative workflow. But the key differentiator isn’t just using AI—it’s prompting it well.

Here’s the hard truth:

People who know how to prompt AI well will outperform those who don’t use it at all.

Stop Typing. Start Talking.

The best way to prompt AI? Talk to it like you would a team member.

Use your phone or mic to voice memo your ideas. Why? Because spoken prompts capture tone, emotion, and context—things that typed prompts often miss.

Take two to four minutes and brain dump everything:

  What you want

  Why you want it

  Who it’s for

  How you’ll use it

This type of contextual setup gives AI what it needs to understand your intent, not just your instructions.

The Prompting Framework That Actually Works

Here’s a four-part system to improve your prompting instantly:

1. Contextual Setup

Don’t say, “Write me a social media policy.” Instead, explain what kind of church, ministry, or media team you’re building. Share the problems you’re solving. Let AI understand the why before asking it for the what.

2. High-Level Goals First, Details Second

Example:

Instead of “Help me grow my media team,” say:

“Our volunteers are overwhelmed on Saturday nights. They’re prepping early, missing family time, and still things fall through the cracks. I need a strategy to grow our media team so we can operate with excellence without burnout.”

Let AI solve real problems, not generic tasks.

3. Balance Personality with Structure

Tell ChatGPT how you want your output to sound—fun, professional, sarcastic, warm. Then add structural rules: “Use headings, bullets, keep it under 500 words.”

This allows AI to match your tone and make the content ready-to-use.

4. Iterate. Don’t Expect Perfection.

You wouldn’t expect a perfect draft from a human writer in one try. Why expect that from AI?

Use phrases like:

  “Let’s tweak this section.”

“Can you make this more engaging?”

“Cut this paragraph and expand this idea.”

That’s where the magic happens—refinement.

Use AI to Save Time Where It Matters Most

Think about this:

Writing an email used to take 5 minutes → Now it’s under 1

Crafting video titles and thumbnails → From 20 minutes to 5

Planning content calendars, scripts, or policies → 60–80% faster with AI

That’s not just time saved—that’s energy reinvested into creativity and leadership.

Train AI Like a Team Member

To get the best results from AI, treat it less like a search engine and more like a creative assistant.

Here’s how to do that effectively:

Speak naturally. Use voice memos to explain your ideas with emotion and nuance.

Give context. Don’t just say what you want—explain why you want it.

Provide feedback. If the output isn’t quite right, say what needs to change and why.

Be consistent. Revisit the same conversation threads or project folders to build continuity and better results over time.

The more clearly and consistently you communicate, the better your AI tool will perform. Think of it like onboarding a new team member—it may take a few tries, but the payoff in productivity and clarity is huge.

Bonus: This practice will also make you a better communicator.

Tools to Take It Even Further

Here are some tools and features we’re using regularly at DiDio Media and inside The MOB:

Canvas (in ChatGPT): A collaborative doc where you and AI write together.

Deep Research: Let AI take 15–20 minutes to analyze PDFs or long notes deeply.

Projects: Organize AI chats into folders by goal—writing, thumbnails, YouTube channel, book writing, etc.

Split Screen Setup: Have ChatGPT open on one side and Google Docs on the other. Watch your workflow double in speed.

Pro Hack: Turn Voice Prompts into Playbooks

We’ve used this method to create entire church social media playbooks, communication strategies, and even outline books.

Here’s how:

 1. Record a 2–3 minute voice memo (brain dump).

 2. Ask ChatGPT to confirm it understands.

 3. Upload a well-designed prompt template (PDF or text).

 4. Let it write the doc.

 5. Review, iterate, and finalize.

Result: A full, custom plan in a fraction of the time.

Final Word

Prompting isn’t just a tech skill—it’s a leadership skill. Whether you’re managing a team, building a content strategy, or writing a book, knowing how to prompt AI well will give you a competitive edge.

The NC Rule and a Problem, Value, Invitation formula to make people care. Let’s be real. You post. You share. You talk about your church, your brand, your calling, your mission… And what do you get back? Crickets.
Maybe a faithful friend throws a like. Maybe your mom drops a heart. But deep down, you’re wondering: “Why isn’t this resonating?” Here’s the hard truth—and your new superpower: Nobody cares. They don’t care about your church vision.
They don’t care about your testimony.
They don’t care how many hours you spent editing that sermon recap. But that’s not a reason to quit. That’s the reason to reframe.  :exploding_head: What is the NC Rule? Nobody Cares… Until They Know Why It Matters to Them. We get it—your story is powerful.
But online, you’re not the hero. The viewer is. And every piece of content you create should answer this one question: “What’s in it for them?” If it doesn’t, it’s just background noise on their feed.  :arrows_counterclockwise: Flip the Script: How to Make Content People Actually Care About Here’s how to take your content from ignored to impactful using the NC Rule: :x: Don’t lead with:
“Come visit our church this Sunday.”
“Let me tell you how we started our ministry.”
“Our team’s been working hard on this new video!” :white_check_mark: Lead with:
“Struggling with anxiety? This Scripture changed how I handle it.”
“The #1 reason people leave church—and what we’re doing about it.”
“3 things you’ll notice when God starts speaking to you more clearly.”
“Here’s how one of our members overcame depression after a loss.” You’re still sharing your story—but now you’re framing it as a gift, not a bio.  :hammer_and_wrench: Content Framework: “Problem > Value > Invitation” Use this simple formula in every post:
 1. Problem: Start with something your audience is feeling
“Most Christians scroll through TikTok for hours and still feel empty…”
 2. Value: Teach, inspire, or solve a need
“…because they’re not being spiritually fed—just entertained. Here’s how to change that.”
 3. Invitation: Offer a simple next step
“Watch the full message here. It might be what you’ve been needing all week.” When you lead with service, people will start paying attention.  :brain: Quick Reframe: Ask This Every Time You Post “Why would someone I’ve never met care about this?” If you can’t answer that clearly, shift the angle.
You don’t need to water down the message—just present it with their lens in mind.  :speech_balloon: Real-Life Examples: Church & Business Blend
  Church/Ministry:
:x: “We’re starting a new series on the book of Acts.”
:white_check_mark: “Here’s why the early church was so bold—and why we struggle to be.”
  Christian Coach:
:x: “Here’s what I offer in my coaching packages.”
:white_check_mark: “3 habits that keep most Christians stuck in their calling.”
  Therapist or Counselor:
:x: “Why I became a therapist.”
:white_check_mark: “If you’re exhausted and overcommitted, this 30-second check-in might reveal why.”
  Church Testimony Video:
:x: “This is Sarah’s testimony.”
:white_check_mark: “She lost everything—and found peace in the one place she didn’t expect: church.”
  Small Business (Local):
:x: “Our team makes the best coffee in town.”
:white_check_mark: “The secret to why our coffee helps you focus better at work (and it’s not just caffeine).”  :dart: Final Word: You’re Not the Hero—You’re the Guide The NC Rule isn’t about lowering your voice—it’s about raising theirs. When your content makes them feel seen, heard, or helped, you get seen, too.
That’s when trust is built. And trust leads to transformation. So next time you create a post, ask:
“Am I making this about me, or about them?” Choose them—every time. Because when people realize you care about their breakthrough, their healing, their purpose…
They’ll start caring about your mission, too.

Facebook's Algorithm Shift: Why You Need a Backup Plan Now https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/facebook-s-algorithm-shift-why-you-need-a-backup-plan-now https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/facebook-s-algorithm-shift-why-you-need-a-backup-plan-now Fri, 21 Mar 2025 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioAlgorithmsLivestreamingSocial MediaYouTubeFacebook is deleting live streams after 30 days. Move your content to YouTube for lasting reach, and back it up with SSD, NAS, or cloud storage. Facebook’s Algorithm Shift – Why You Need a Backup Plan Now

Facebook is making a major change that could impact content creators, churches, businesses, and anyone who relies on live streaming. The platform is now deleting live streams older than 30 days, meaning if you don’t have a backup plan in place, your valuable content could disappear for good.

What’s Changing?

Facebook has always been a platform built around engagement and immediacy. But now, the company is reinforcing that by removing old live streams after just 30 days. This shift signals that **Facebook is treating live video as short-term, disposable content** rather than a lasting resource.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you’ve been relying on Facebook as a primary storage space for your videos, you need to act fast. Once a stream passes the 30-day mark, it’s gone

This move reinforces the idea that Facebook is a flash-in-the-pan content platform, while YouTube remains the best option for long-term video storage and discoverability.

Moving to YouTube for Long-Term Legacy

If you want your content to last beyond Facebook’s short lifespan, **YouTube is the answer**. Unlike Facebook, YouTube treats video as a searchable, long-term asset. Here’s why you should make YouTube your primary home for video content:

- Better discoverability: YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world (owned by the first), making it easier for new audiences to find your content.

- Evergreen content strategy: Videos on YouTube continue to gain views years after they’re uploaded, while Facebook content quickly fades from feeds.

- Better content organization: YouTube playlists, chapters, and metadata tools help keep your content structured and easy to navigate.

- Higher video quality and performance: YouTube is optimized for video longevity, offering better resolution, closed captions, and SEO tools to boost your reach.

If you’ve been relying on Facebook alone, now is the time to start uploading your videos to YouTube and building legacy.

How to Store Your Videos Properly

To make sure your content doesn’t get lost, here’s how you can securely store your videos:

- Invest in local storage: Get a 2TB or 4TB SSD to keep copies of your streams offline.

- Use a Synology NAS: A Network Attached Storage (NAS) device allows you to organize and access videos from anywhere.

- Leverage cloud storage: Platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Amazon S3 offer scalable options for archiving content.

Final Thoughts

This is your wake-up call. Facebook is not your place to build legacy or archive content. If your content matters, you need a strategy to back it up and extend its lifespan beyond 30 days.

Don’t let your powerful message disappear.

Color Grading Basics 💪 (Video and Graphics) https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/color-grading-basics https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/color-grading-basics Tue, 15 Oct 2024 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioColor GradingThumbnailsVideo EditingTurn flat footage into cinematic video. Color grading basics: correction vs grading, exposure, white balance, and LUTs for video and thumbnails.

How to Color Grade Your Videos for Maximum Engagement

If you’re serious about creating videos that stand out, color grading is a game-changer. It’s the secret sauce that turns your footage from "meh" to cinematic. The right color grade doesn’t just make your video look better—it makes your audience feel something. Whether you're going for a moody, dramatic look or bright, vibrant vibes, mastering color grading is key to keeping your viewers engaged.

Here’s how to get started with color grading and make your videos pop.

1. Understand Color Correction vs. Color Grading

First things first—let’s clear up some confusion. Color correction and color grading aren’t the same thing. Color correction is about fixing issues in your footage (think exposure, white balance, or saturation). Color grading, on the other hand, is where the magic happens. This is where you craft the overall mood and style of your video.

2. Get Familiar with Your Tools

Whether you're using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, your editing software will have a range of color tools. But if you're just starting out, don't overwhelm yourself. Premiere Pro’s Lumetri Color panel is a fantastic place to begin. And if you want to take the guesswork out of color grading, a good LUT (Lookup Table) can help you achieve pro-level results with minimal effort.

(Speaking of LUTs, I’ve created a free LUT that you can download—more on that in a bit!)

3. Nail Your Exposure and White Balance First

Before you even think about color grading, make sure your footage is properly exposed and balanced. It’s like building a house: you can’t add the fancy finishes until the foundation is solid. Adjust your exposure and white balance to get a neutral starting point for your grade.

4. Start with a LUT (It’s Not Cheating, I Promise!)

If you’re new to color grading, a LUT is your best friend. It’s a pre-made color profile that can save you a ton of time and give your footage an instant lift. Once applied, you can still tweak the intensity or make finer adjustments to match your vision.

(Shameless plug: if you're looking for a simple, high-quality LUT that works for both Premiere Pro and Photoshop, you can grab mine for free. Plus, you’ll get a guide that shows you exactly how to apply it!)

5. Adjust Your Contrast and Saturation

After applying your LUT or doing some basic color grading, it’s time to fine-tune. Contrast helps your video feel more dynamic, while saturation enhances the richness of the colors. Be careful not to overdo it—subtle adjustments can often make the biggest impact.

6. Keep It Consistent

If you’re editing a video with multiple shots, consistency is key. Make sure your color grade matches across all your clips so that everything flows together. A jarring color shift between scenes can distract viewers and take them out of the moment.

Bonus Tip: Don’t Forget About Your Thumbnails

Thumbnails are where color grading really shines. A well-graded thumbnail grabs attention and draws people in, so don’t skip the grading here either. Our LUT works just as well for still images, helping you create thumbnails that pop.

Ready to Get Started?

Color grading doesn’t have to be intimidating, and it’s a crucial step in creating videos that engage your audience from start to finish. To make it even easier, I’ve put together a free LUT and a PDF guide that walks you through how to implement it in both Premiere Pro and Photoshop. You’ll find both available in the Members Library after you sign up.

Why Your Thumbnails Might Be Killing Your Channel (And What To Do About It) https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/why-your-thumbnails-might-be-killing-your-channel https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/why-your-thumbnails-might-be-killing-your-channel Wed, 11 Sep 2024 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioContent StrategyThumbnailsYouTubeIn the ruthless world of YouTube, your thumbnail is your first impression. Four rules to make it pop: keep it simple, stay consistent, show emotion. Let’s be real—if your thumbnails are boring, your content might as well not exist. I hate to break it to you, but in the ruthless world of YouTube, first impressions are everything, and that first impression is your thumbnail.

1. Keep It Simple
- Overcomplicating your thumbnail is a surefire way to blend into the background. Think of it like a billboard on the highway—no one’s got time to read a novel. Stick to bold, clear visuals that scream, “Click me!” without actually needing to scream. Subtlety is your friend here.

Here's an example of one of our video's thumbnails:

2. Consistency Is Key
- Thumbnails should be like your digital signature. If someone can’t tell your videos apart from the next guy’s, you’ve already lost. Develop a style that’s unmistakably yours—whether it’s color schemes, fonts, or that weird obsession you have with a certain type of graphic. Make it yours, and make it consistent.

3. Show Some Emotion
- People are wired to react to emotions. If your thumbnail looks like a stock photo or worse—like you couldn’t care less—then why should your viewers? A well-placed expression, a pop of color, or a bit of text that piques curiosity can be all it takes to turn a browser into a viewer.

4. Test, Fail, Repeat
- Not every thumbnail is going to be a masterpiece, and that’s fine. The trick is to keep experimenting until you hit the jackpot. Analyze what works, ditch what doesn’t, and never stop tweaking. Perfection is overrated, but progress isn’t.

Now, if you’re sitting there realizing that your thumbnails might need a little help, don’t sweat it. The good news is, this is fixable—and it just so happens that I know a place where you can get some help.

20 Moves Every Church Can do NOW to get More Views on YouTube... https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/20-moves-every-church-can-do-now-to-get-more-views-on-youtube https://evandidio.com/blogs/news/20-moves-every-church-can-do-now-to-get-more-views-on-youtube Tue, 26 Mar 2024 08:00:00 GMT Evan DiDioChurch GrowthContent StrategyThumbnailsYouTube20 practical moves every church can make now to grow on YouTube: fix Made for Kids, sharpen thumbnails, master SEO, trim streams, and mobilize your team.

1. Turn off "Made For Kids": There is a setting in YouTube called "Made for Kids". Your church's channel is NOT made for kids. If you check "yes" you're telling YouTube that you don't want to get views.

  • It turns off comments
  • Limits views
  • Turns off the mini-player
  • Demonetizes your channel
  • And more

Spiritually, I believe this was used specifically as an attack against many ministries. Don't fall for it 👊

2. Optimize Thumbnails: Ensure your thumbnails feature a clear, large face with visible eyes for maximum viewer engagement. Make the text easy and fun to read. This is an easy fix most churches could start doing right now. If you think the faces on your thumbnails are big enough, they probably aren't.

3. Stay Laser-Focused: Keep your content tightly aligned with your church's core message and values. Don't do a video about salvation one day and your recent skiing trip the next.

4. Learn from the Pros: Study successful church channels and adapt their proven strategies to fit your style. This doesn't necessarily mean mega-ministries. Look for other churches your size.

Sometimes mega-ministries get views just because they have a built-in following that you may not have.

5. Engagement is Key: Get your leadership team to like, comment, and watch the videos.

We have our "Dream Team" hit play. They don't even have to listen to it.

We also encourage them to pray with people in the live chat, and the comments. These are real people that need real connection.

6. Consistency Counts: Keep the content pipeline flowing with regular uploads to maintain audience interest.

7. Master SEO: Nail down the basics of SEO (search engine optimization) to increase your visibility and reach on YouTube.

This includes your title, thumbnail, tags, description, and even the transcription in some cases.

Make sure your channel is optimized for search, meaning: when someone searches "How to pray right", your video comes up.

8. Fully Commit: If you don't care about your channel, it shows. Your lack of dedication is contagious to your viewers.

9. Watch Out For The "Branding Bug": Don't let your "branding" mess up your thumbnails and titles. When someone wants an answer to a question they don't want to see your logo or website.

10. Mobilize Your Flock: Rally your congregation to actively support and promote your YouTube efforts.

11. Trim Your Videos: After the live stream is processed on YouTube, trim out the countdown, announcements, fluff, and whatever else does not contribute to the value proposition of the video. Yes, this might mean trimming out your praise and worship.

12. Analyze and Refine: Utilize analytics to gain insights into viewer behavior and fine-tune your content strategy accordingly. Specifically monitor the Retention, and New Vs. Returning Viewers graphs.

13. Spread the Word: Extend your reach by sharing your videos across all relevant social media platforms once the video is done processing the fluff you trimmed out earlier.

14. Call to Action: Prompt your viewers to take specific actions, such as subscribing, donating, or attending services, but do it at the right times. A general rule of thumb is to give them 3 things of value, then deliver a call to action.

15. Get Help: I heard one minister say "Someone else should be doing your job in 18 months". That hit me hard because delegation has always been hard for me. Don't allow the enemy to tell you that you're the only one capable of doing the job right. Here's a whole video I did with my bro Mason about this topic specifically: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-u3NSTzKNQ

16. Secure Your Channel: Protect your channel against unauthorized access by enabling two-step verification. Sometimes this is not enough though, so be sure to have a heavy-duty password and don't give it to anyone who hasn't signed a NDA.

17. Stay Agile: Remain flexible and adaptive, willing to pivot your strategy based on feedback and changing trends. DO NOT GET STUCK IN A RUT.

18. Pray: No matter what new platform pops up, or what strategy is hot at the time, prayer is one of the only actions that guarantees results.

19. Lead with Authenticity: Be genuine, transparent, and relatable in your content and interactions with your audience.

BUT don't be too transparent. Transparency does not equal Authenticity.

Maintain your privacy to increase professionalism. No one needs to see your messy room, or crazy kids. Pair authenticity with intentionality, and you have a professional brand.

20. Never Give Up: Maintain unwavering persistence and determination in pursuit of your YouTube goals, no matter the challenges you may face.

Remember, this is all for the Kingdom. We aren't simply content creators, we are Sowers, and "He gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater".

With these 20 strategic maneuvers locked and loaded, you're poised to dominate the YouTube scene and advance your church's mission like never before. So, gear up, take action, and let's go out and win some souls.
